Gator-Studios.com started in 2006 when we found a need to fill for users of Sonoma Wire Works “RiffWorksTM software. RiffWorks is a great product which allows guitarists to quickly create music without having to learn all the complicated ins and outs of using traditional hardware or Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software. A lot of great musicians are finally finding their recording feet with RiffWorks!
What we found as a part of the RiffWorks community was many people struggle with the engineering required to get beyond basic recording, and need help to get their work to the level required to release a CD, pitch their music in the industry, etc. We are here to fill that need, at whatever level you require for your project. In 2007 we expanded into Backing Track production based on requests from our customers, and we’ll continue to grow our audio-related services...bring your suggestions, and stay tuned!
Why Gator-Studios.com?
Engineering is still knowledge, practice, environment and experience. Gator-Studios.com is the virtual studio of the RiffWorks user, where you can take advantage of the environment and experience for whatever your project calls for, whether mixing and mastering, or more advanced needs.
Part of what we do here is educate. We are active on a number of forums, helping people to understand how to record better music. Our RiffWorks mixes are always returned so the client can see “how it was done” and learn from it. We produce articles to help new users get started with recording. The time spent is well rewarded...we are making a positive impact on the music and the artists!
We listen. A music project is a very personal thing, to some people it’s on the order of having children! We understand this personal relationship you have with your music and strive to make sure the mix or final master is what you desire.
We’re flexible! At Gator-Studios.com we have many tools available beyond what RiffWorks can provide. On previous projects we’ve done vocal pitch correction, timing corrections, pitch shifting, and audio imports where required to make the project shine, and were able to keep the final product in RiffWorks. In other cases we’ve taken the mix out of RiffWorks totally to incorporate things like loops and MIDI “extras” that the artist desired.
Spend your time playing guitar! We’ve also found that most of you would really rather be playing guitar or writing new songs that spending your time trying to get a good mix. Many folks have less than ideal mix environments too...take advantage of ours!
